Finance Manager

Position Summary
As a Finance Manager, you are a critical part of our financial business office services, overseeing financial transactions for multiple Texas charter schools. This includes managing accounts payable, reconciliations, audit documentation, and financial reporting, in line with FASRG guidelines, TEA regulations, and federal requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the Finance Specialist team, ensuring compliance with CSS policies and procedures.
Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, month-end processes, and client communications.
Maintain clients’ general ledgers, ensuring timely responses to client inquiries.
Reconcile bank accounts and review/approve financial reports monthly.
Prepare and post journal entries, budget journals, and federal fund adjustments.
Monitor the adherence to schedules for back-office processing to meet external and internal deadlines.
Ensure timely completion of quarterly and annual reports
Support the preparation of client budgets, including compliance checks and board meeting presentations.
Assist in audit preparation, including year-end closing tasks and final audit document submissions.
Support new client onboarding, setting up financial systems, and ensuring smooth integration.
Accountability and Classification
Required:
Minimum 3 years of related experience.
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
A team-oriented, can-do attitude with exceptional customer service abilities.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Effective time management and task management skills.
Proficiency in spreadsheet creation and analysis.
Ability to work independently from a home office with access to necessary equipment.
Ability to engage in limited travel within Texas.
Stable high-speed internet access is required.
Preferred:
Preferred 1+ years of management experience overseeing teams.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Established relationships in the charter school industry.
This position is full-time, non-exempt, and fully remote, with a competitive pay range between $25-$35 hourly. It reports directly to the Finance Director and requires a commitment to meeting deadlines and exceeding client expectations.
