Human Resources Specialist

Position Summary
Human Resource Specialists play a crucial role in shaping the client’s HR experience. They are responsible for processing new hire paperwork, onboarding, coordinating benefits, and supporting the ongoing HR needs of multiple Texas charter schools.
Knowledge, Skills and Abillities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Process new hire paperwork, status changes, and terminations for multiple schools through the electronic HR system (e.g., TalentEd)
Upload employees into TEA databases to confirm employment eligibility (ECOS, DNH)
Create and maintain employee manifests for each school
Oversee benefit administration for schools, including annual benefits open enrollment, employee benefits enrollment/termination and portal maintenance, and billing reconciliation monthly
Coordinate new year activities, related to new year offers and document issuance
Assist schools in updating documents such as job descriptions, staff handbooks, and duty calendars
Manage school HR email accounts
Address or route miscellaneous HR client inquiries
Attend internal and external school meetings as required
Other duties as assigned
Accountability and Classification
Required:
Minimum 1 year of related experience.
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
A team-oriented, can-do attitude with exceptional customer service abilities.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Effective time management and task management skills.
Proficiency in spreadsheet creation and analysis.
Ability to work independently from a home office with access to necessary equipment.
Ability to engage in limited travel within Texas.
Stable high-speed internet access is required.
Preferred:
HR Certification
This position is full-time, non-exempt, and fully remote, with competitive hourly pay between $18 and $23. It reports directly to the HR Manager and/or HR Director and requires a commitment to meeting deadlines and exceeding client expectations.
