Friday, August 1, 2026, is an important Foundation School Program (FSP) reporting deadline for Texas school districts and open-enrollment charter schools. Completing these submissions on time helps ensure your LEA receives accurate state funding projections and payment schedules for the upcoming school year.

Open-Enrollment Charter Schools

Charter schools should complete the required Estimate Data submission in the TEAL Foundation School Program (FSP) System. This report provides TEA with projected enrollment and Average Daily Attendance (ADA) information used to calculate Foundation School Program funding.

If your charter school plans to participate in the Accelerated Payment Schedule, be sure all required documentation is submitted by TEA's deadline.

Independent School Districts (ISDs)

School districts should complete all required Foundation School Program reporting due August 1, including:

  • Maximum Compressed Tax Rate (MCTR) information

  • Local Property Value Survey (LPVS) submissions, as applicable

Why It Matters

The information submitted through the Foundation School Program System allows TEA to:

  • Establish Foundation School Program payment schedules.

  • Calculate projected state funding.

  • Support accurate cash flow planning for the upcoming fiscal year.

  • Reduce significant funding adjustments later in the year as actual attendance is reported.

Submitting complete and accurate information by the deadline helps ensure your LEA begins the school year with the most accurate funding projections possible.
